Road reopens following fatal crash

A section of road from Castle Dargan to Killross National School in Ballygawley has reopened following a fatal road traffic collision.

A 26-year-old man was injured when the motorbike he was driving hit a ditch near Killross at around 8.20pm last night.

He was taken to Sligo General Hospital where he was pronounced dead just before 10pm.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information is asked to contact Sligo Garda station on 071 9142031 or the Gardai Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

The road was closed for a time this morning to allow Gardai to carry out a forensic examination of the scene.
