New taxi ranks for Sligo

Four new taxi ranks in Sligo Town are to be created.

The ranks will operate at Castle Street, Stephen Street, Kempten Parade and JFK Parade.

30 new taxi spaces will be provided as a result.

Members of Sligo Borough Council adopted a report on the provision of new taxi spaces at its meeting last night.

The ranks at Castle Street and Stephen Street will operate from loading bays between the hours of 12pm and 5 am, and 12pm and 8.30am respectively.

The Kempten Parade rank will operate between 6.30pm and 8am, and the JFK Parade rank between 6.30pm and 8.30am.

The previously developed taxi rank at Abbey Street has been discarded in the new plan.
