Minister of State, Dinny McGinley has called for AIB to communicate with all affected customers and staff in Donegal in relation to the eight branches that are to close in the county.
The bank annouced on Friday last that it is to close a significant number of its bank branches across the North-West with eight in Co. Donegal and in Co. Sligo.
The Donegal branches facing closure in the first half of 2013 are Bundoran, Falcarragh, Raphoe, Gweedore, Moville, Lifford and Dunfanaghy while Milford will close in October of this year.
In Co. Sligo, the Collooney branch will close before the end of 2012.
AIB services will now be offered through the An Post Network, while there will also be a mobile banking service in Co. Donegal.
Minister McGinley says the closures will bring a lot of disruption to the people of the North-West.
