Health Minister criticised for cuts

A Donegal TD has slammed the Minister for Health, Dr. James Reilly for implementing cuts in the HSE which he claims are having a detrimental effect on seriously ill patients in the county.

Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn says senior HSE officials have taken the blame for the demise of the Donegal to Dublin treatment bus but it is the cutbacks ordered by the Minister and his Government that have been the actual cause.

He says the removal of the bus service was just the latest in a line of cutbacks to impact on Donegal patients including substantial reductions to home help hours across the county.

Deputy MacLochlainn is now calling on Minister Reilly to make his position clear on this issue.
