Flight to save Collooney bank continues

Added: 05-09-2012

A business plan to highlight the need for the retention of the Collooney branch of AIB will be drawn up and sent to the banks headquarters in Dublin.

It's follows a meeting between officials from Sligo County Council and members of the "Save Our Bank in Collooney" group in the Teeling Centre in the town yesterday.

The group has already met with AIB's regional manager on the issue and are also collecting signatures for a petition.

The branch is due to close on the 26th of the month as part of the bank's cost cutting measures.
