The Fianna Fáil Leader Micheál Martin has lead tributes to the late David Charlton.
The 48 year old husband of the former Tánaiste Mary Coughlan had been suffering from cancer and passed away on Friday evening last.
He was a Garda attached to Glenties station.
Micheál Martin has expressed his sympathy to the family. Mr.Charlton is survived by his wife Mary, and their children Meave and Cathal.
His funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday at 12noon in St. Mary's Church, Frosses.
Meanwhile, Donegal County Councillor Brendan Byrne has also paid tribute to Mr. Charlton. He says he fought his illness with great fortitude and bravery.
