AIB CEO to meet with Regional Manager

The regional manager of AIB says he will relay the concerns of the members of community in Collooney to his CEO over the closure of the bank's branch in the town.

Peter Green met with members of the local business community and political representatives, Sligo North Leitrim Fine Gael TD Tony McLoughlin and Fine Gael Cllr Thomas Collery this morning.

Mr Green said he will relay the concerns of the group to the CEO David Duffy and will met with them again within three to four weeks.

He also gave a guarantee that there would be a member of staff in place at the Collooney branch from Monday to instruct people on how to carry out there banking with An Post in future.

The branch is due to close at the end of October.

It was announced almost two weeks that it would close along with eight other branches across County Donegal.
