Ocean FM is lending its support to promote the events surrounding the Marcus Moore Treatment Fund.
Marcus Moore is a young Sligo Man that has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Luekemia which is an aggressive form of the disease. At the age of 18 he had luekemia but went into remission for 4 years and 8 months but at the age of 24 the disease has returned. His hope for survival is the use of a trial drug that he will have to be treated with in the Royal Free Hospital in London. This could cost up on €100,000 but his family hope to raise €50,000 but this will need to be done in the next 6 weeks as the treatment will need to start.
The South Sligo Athletic Club are doing the Longford Marathon in aid of Marcus Moore and the contact there is Anthony Walsh on 0879722927 or make a donation to the Marcus Moore Treatment Fund A/c No 00131966
- 98/62/60 at Ulster Bank Ltd Stephen St Sligo. Put SSAC on reference for lodgement and this will help us to identify the Athletic Club.
I have some tickets for an event for a raffle on its way from Donegal and more news on that next week.
A Rugby Bliltz is planned for August and the Warriors Run and Bucket Collection at both GAA and Sligo Rovers Matches are planned and more news will be posted next week.
Note of thanks
Many thanks to all who are helping out and making donations to the fund for Marcus's Treatment.
To the people who have made donations to us we are truly grateful and to those who are doing their own fundraisers. To take the time to do this for Marcus makes us realise how good people are. Thank you one and all.
Our prayers will be offered for you all as well as Marcus.
