Arts Council funding announced for artists and projects in the north west



The Arts Council of Ireland is to invest €7.3m into artists and projects across the country.

Some 131 artists, projects and events are to benefit through the Arts Grant Funding Programme.

The fund was first introduced in 2018 under their 10 year strategy; ‘Making Great Art Work, while a further €35m is to be invested under the Strategic Funding Scheme 2020.

Some of the projects to benefit in the north west region ar the Glen Centre in Manorhamilton is to receive €40,000, Balor Arts Centre in Ballybofey €44,800 and Sligo Jazz Festival with a further €44,000.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Arts Council Director and Donegal woman, Orlaith McBride, says the funding is aimed at bringing high quality experiences to people in the north west.
