The Sligo Joint Policing Committee are launching a new initiative aimed at highlighting issues disabled drivers face.
‘Operation Enable’ is aimed at encouraging motorists to not take up disabled parking spots while also aiming to ensure holders of a parking permit adhere to the conditions.
It’s being launched today at Sligo Council Chamber at 1pm and is in association with Sligo County Council, An Gardá Siochána, the Irish Wheelchair Association and the Disabled Drivers Association.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Sergeant Angela Cummins says there are a number of issues they hope to address.
