UPDATED: Fire service warns of delays after lorry goes on fire near Sligo Hospital

The Mall area near the hospital in Sligo town is back to normal after a truck went on fire earlier.

The incident involving a bin lorry happened just after ten o’clock this morning and caused some traffic delays in the area.

Noone was injured as a result of the incident.

Gardai say that they are waiting for a tow-truck to remove the vehicle from the area.

10:30 am update:

People are advised to approach the Mall entrance to Sligo University Hospital with caution due to a fire.

The fire services have confirmed that a bin lorry has gone on fire.

The emergency services are at the scene and noone has been injured as a result of the incident.

However, Traffic is building up and people are advised to approach the area with caution.
